A while back in March there was discussion regarding a need for a new search engine since duckduckgo was gone commie.. and while this isn't it exactly it can be used to safe search, avoid tracking and is programmable from within settings page of

RIS Safe Search

SearXNG — a privacy-respecting, open metasearch engine

where one can select or unselect different sources for the returns RIS gives.

also, developer Brad below offers the parameter settings to use in browser settings under add search engine.

I'ma gonna give it a go and see how I like it.
